DIY "This Little Light of Mine" Flameless Candle

Pottery Barn Candle

I found these open flame candles at Pottery Barn.
I loved the look so much that I am adapting them into a craft that you and your kiddos can do together.

let it shine, let it shine, let it shine!

Here's a craft that will encourage your little kiddos to grab some paint brushes and sing a classic bible song right along with you as they make a flameless LED candle. No dripping wax, burning little fingers or risk of fire. Only a shining beauty they can "light" whenever they want to. Some models (like this one available at Walmart) even run on a timer!

You'll need...

Add ImageSo here we go..

Click this link and Print the sheet music template for "This Little Light of Mine".
Trim the sheet music to fit the candle.
Brush Mod Podge on the back of the music sheet and all around the pillar candle.
Affix the sheet music to the candle. Lastly brush a layer of mod Podge over the top of the music to give it a finishing top coat.

Now that was S i m p l e
Give it an extra coat of Mod Podge if you'd like.
And when it's completely dry, turn on the light and enjoy your shiny candle!

Jan 6 - When they entered the house, they beheld the Child with Mary his Mother. Falling to their knees, they paid Him homage. - Matthew 2: 9-11

REFLECTION. If we approach with faith, we too will see Jesus...; for the Eucharistic table takes the place of the crib. Here the Body of the Lord is present, wrapped not in swaddling clothes but in the rays of the Holy Spirit. - St. John Chrysostom
